Vintage Secret

Vintage Secret is my new favourite website. I have a lot of envy and admiration for the founder Naomi not only because she is from an Events Management background but she has managed to use her skills to really corner for everything vintage, building up her consultancy and style business to such a degree that she has worked with Vogue, Times Style Magazine and Cosmopolitan.

I'm a bit jealous of the success of Vintage Secret, putting people in pretty dresses for a living, telling people what they should and shouldn't wear - yes please. Also check out Naomi's blog as she is constantly updated on vintage themed holiday's, events, and other such vintage loveliness.

My Birthday wish list

I've never been that humble when it comes to birthdays, I know exactly what I want and feel as if you don't let people know then your just not going to get what you want!

1. Sewing Machine Table - I would like one in this style, it reminds me of the one my Mum has/had (if Mum still has it 'SHOTGUN' I want it please)

2. A dressmakers dummy to accompany my new sewing table, ideally an adjustable one so that I can make the boobs to the right size without having to put a stuffed bra over it.

3. New perfume please. I ran out Dior Pure Poison a while ago and havent smelt the same since.

4. Quote me on holiday in Edinburgh, "I don't know if i have gone deaf in one ear or if my headphones are just broken." It would appear said headphones are broken and my tempoarary deafness was a figment of my stupidity. I will therefore need new headphones, hopefully rocking ones that look like the one's on the right.

5. New Chanel lipstick, the old one is almost gone and as we are approaching Autumn I feel as if I need a new darker shade.

If someone could ensure the appropriate members of my family see this entry that would be fantastic.

The Dinner Club

Me and the girls from work have started a dinner club, cool right! Well we are going to document our dinner's via an online blog, click to join DONT FUCK WITH MY DINNER CLUB blog.


Maria was first up and she made a delightful meal of loveliness including the sperm cake, which tasted glorious. We ate a lot of cheese, lentils and good shit, drank a lot of wine and all managed to roll into work on time the next day. We are adamant that we are going to become an online phenomenon, which i think is only fair!

JULY............................

Paula & Dan’s Wedding
Manchester

Trip with one’s ex is always a tad risqué, but how about a whole weekend and a wedding? Luckily twas  a wedding of awesomeness.

Headed up to Manchester for the first time ever to see Paula and Dan’s wedding, adamant that a certain someone was going to miss the train because of drunk midnight calls to my sister, but we made the train. We arrived at the venue in the party cab to check in before heading onto the church. What is it with me and cab drivers that don’t know the way – stupid cab man went the longest way ever but we were there in good time for this one, no having to dash in just before the bride.

Oh I forgot to mention I did manage to rock my awesome big pink hat for this one, much to the old lady behind me dis-belief.

Anyway fast forward to wedding speeches – no ordinary wedding speeches but a quiz. A QUIZ, yes a quiz and guess what, my table rocked it and won that quiz and won amazing medals. Can you tell we were a bit smug! Music soon followed by the amazing Crown Top Kings, rockabilly tastic, followed by the DJ, whose rock collection i think we exhausted by the end of the night.

A truly fun wedding, new friends made, ROCK.

Only Fiona could suggest camping in a beer garden... she suggested... we followed.

This was a truly fantasmagorical weekend with a whole fuck ton of laughter. I think the following videos demonstrate the level we were at this weekend. We ate well, drank well (well i was shit faced crying to Dolly P songs), listened to Hanson and enjoyed a weekend of pure lovely friendshipness, fills me with belly love thinking about it. xxxx

5 months.....

I haven't updated for 5 months now, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of starting this thing in the first place, but here goes a blow by blow of the past 147 days.


The Month of May
Imogen & David's Wedding
Flaxton, York

So I made my second visit to the uni folk up north in order to celebrate Imogen and David's nuptials. After my almost missing the mega bus up there, we were lumped with the most dense taxi driver in the world. We were all ready in our finery, in a lovely air conditioned cab, but then got stuck in a fuck load of traffic, the woman didn’t know where she was dropping us off, my good old Nokia maps to the rescue and I directed her to the venue! But by the time we had eventually got there the coach bringing us to the church had already left…duh duh duh. So, now fighting back the tears about the fact that we might miss the one most singular important day of our beloved Imogen’s life, BEN came to the rescue. Yes Ben, fresh faced young Ben who worked behind the bar, the best thing about fresh faced young Ben was that he had a car, he could drive that car, and best of all, he could drive it fast!

Approximately 3 minutes later we dashed into the church and took our pews just before the beautiful bride turned up. Imogen waltzed down the aisle like an actual princess (the dress was also called ‘the Princess’ so it’s a fact) with her Wild Thornberries Dad proud as punch.

Ceremony over, we got a massive old school bus back to the reception venue. The food, wine, champagne, toast, speeches were all awesome, but the highlight of the meal was the biggest fucking cheese board I have EVER seen in my life. It was a CHEESE TABLE! Michelle took full advantage of the cheese table, did me proud. In good old Imogen style there was the cheesiest wedding band known to man which pleased us greatly because by that time we were smashed and well up for a good dance.

All in all, a truly beautiful wedding and it was so nice to be around all the uni girls again – next time, they come to London to visit me!

The Number One House in Tulse Hill - FACT

I moved into possibly one of the best houses in the world with probably the best house mates in the world, we have named our house The Number One House in Tulse Hill because it is (but not at pub quizzes, because then we’re the third best!)
