Happy Saint Patricks Day one and all.

Happy Saint Patricks Day one and all.

So this is the day when St Patrick did all sorts of good in Ireland like getting rid of snakes and stuff. And all the folk who live in Ireland get to not go to work today which seems a bit unfair because I kind of feel I should get the day off to because of having Irish blood and stuff and he’s a saint so it’s like a religious holiday – HR!

When we were young and at school we always used to get sent in with pigtails decorated in green, white and gold ribbons and a green badge with either a shamrock or harp on it. Then, ( keep in mind I went to a catholic school with lots of Irish people) at assembly we would all put on our Irish dancing dresses and do jigs and reels for our other school friends, there was usually at least one boy who also danced which was a novelty. Then the musicians would play some diddly diddly tunes and everyone would dance around the room, girls on one side and boys on the other!

So today my first plan is to get a lunch time beverage to take the edge off the pain in my head. Then after work get into some proper worshipping of the Saint, somewhere called THE PUB. I feel quite like I have to take lead on this as I am probably the most Irish person I know apart from Claire but I don’t have any actual friends with Irish accents which seems a right shame. I might continuously ring the pub because they all had really strong Irish accents, the man with the northern Irish accent better be hot coz he definitely had a ‘sex’ voice. Never the less I am sure tomorrow will tell a few more stories!

If you would like to do some further research into Saint Patrick, the man who gave me my middle name then you can see quite a concise entry on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Patrick or you can just go down the pub and raise a glass to him.

The most awesome cushions ever...

I thought I would share this with everyone because they are frickin awesome. I found a lady online who makes alphabet cushions, they are soooooo much cheaper than the shops which retail each letter at about £30 – these were £7.50!

They now sit pride and place on my small sofa which has never been so clutter free, they have also prompted many a conversation about what rude words would be funniest to display (suggestions welcome.) To all my friends soon to be wedded this year, this is a preview of your gift so if you don’t want comical words let me know now.
To order yours you can contact Debbie on debra.brown11@virginmedia.com or visit her blog of lots of lovely things where my cushions are featured http://auntywainwrightstreasures.blogspot.com/
