Happy Saint Patricks Day one and all.

Happy Saint Patricks Day one and all.

So this is the day when St Patrick did all sorts of good in Ireland like getting rid of snakes and stuff. And all the folk who live in Ireland get to not go to work today which seems a bit unfair because I kind of feel I should get the day off to because of having Irish blood and stuff and he’s a saint so it’s like a religious holiday – HR!

When we were young and at school we always used to get sent in with pigtails decorated in green, white and gold ribbons and a green badge with either a shamrock or harp on it. Then, ( keep in mind I went to a catholic school with lots of Irish people) at assembly we would all put on our Irish dancing dresses and do jigs and reels for our other school friends, there was usually at least one boy who also danced which was a novelty. Then the musicians would play some diddly diddly tunes and everyone would dance around the room, girls on one side and boys on the other!

So today my first plan is to get a lunch time beverage to take the edge off the pain in my head. Then after work get into some proper worshipping of the Saint, somewhere called THE PUB. I feel quite like I have to take lead on this as I am probably the most Irish person I know apart from Claire but I don’t have any actual friends with Irish accents which seems a right shame. I might continuously ring the pub because they all had really strong Irish accents, the man with the northern Irish accent better be hot coz he definitely had a ‘sex’ voice. Never the less I am sure tomorrow will tell a few more stories!

If you would like to do some further research into Saint Patrick, the man who gave me my middle name then you can see quite a concise entry on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Patrick or you can just go down the pub and raise a glass to him.

The most awesome cushions ever...

I thought I would share this with everyone because they are frickin awesome. I found a lady online who makes alphabet cushions, they are soooooo much cheaper than the shops which retail each letter at about £30 – these were £7.50!

They now sit pride and place on my small sofa which has never been so clutter free, they have also prompted many a conversation about what rude words would be funniest to display (suggestions welcome.) To all my friends soon to be wedded this year, this is a preview of your gift so if you don’t want comical words let me know now.
To order yours you can contact Debbie on debra.brown11@virginmedia.com or visit her blog of lots of lovely things where my cushions are featured http://auntywainwrightstreasures.blogspot.com/

My Boyfriend ROCKS!!

I know I haven't written on here in a very long time but my boyfriend actually ROCKS, check out the video which is him playing Eugine's trick bag, as seen in Crossroads.

As most of you will probably know me, it is not the Britney film, it is in fact the film starring The Karate Kid and Steve Vai, a guitar hero - or Devil if you have seen the film! Either way it's ace, and I'm not being biased or ought.
P.S. Yes she is Star from lost boys!!

The Dreaded Christmas Party

As I write this I feel as if today has been one of the biggest achievements in my life as I have just made it to the end of the day. Every excuse in the world went through my head this morning trying to conjure up fantasies of why I shouldn’t go to work, but I did it, I went in, and actually worked! The day after the Christmas party…

The part of my day that wasn’t filled with the pure desperation for my bed was spent laughing myself to tears re living the antics of the evening. Ollys brilliantly purchased gangster necklace with a leopard head on it, and the fact that the people on the table next to us were convinced he was our pimp! I got given a sewing kit as representation of my passion to sew (not that I have for a VERY long time.) After lunch and cabaret shenanigans we headed back to Soho to commandeer Bar Soho with our sheer mass of number. Managed to get a go on Michals new specs which made me feel like Twitch from So You Think You Can Dance which pleased me muchly.

All in all not that dreaded this year. I managed to make my exit before making a complete arse of myself, well at least making it clear to everyone that Michal's teaching cane was by far the best gift ever and everyone should have one in the bedroom. But I am sure my work colleagues have heard worse from my drunken lips. At an end to the year, at least now I have two weeks clear of not even thinking or imagining about work. So Christmas tunes on, bags to be packed, fingers crossed flight takes off and some unbareable mothering heading in my direction, I fucking love Christmas.

My very festive Friends Christmas

So another year, another Friends Christmas, an even bigger one than usual. 12 of us piled in the pub for an attempt as Christmas dinner, although the Bernards Matthew Turkey Roll that was served up was somewhat over shadowed by the massive steak option that ended up looking way more appealing however unfestive.

Then over to Jo's house where we ate an emmense amount of cheese and cake. We kept the child like spirit alive with Lo dressing up as Santa and handing us out our presents one by one. The cake below is one I iced myself and am somewhat impressed with ones self!

I recieved a cardigan from Fiona the Loaner, one which I was going to buy for myself but hadnt yet, so i completely lucked out on that one.

The very lucky Boy Sam recieved a very awesome personalised gift from me. I'm not sure how much use he is going to get out of a hat, key ring, pen and mouse mat with his face on, but he seemed to be pleased anyway. Not as pleased as when we presented them with their deserters plaque. The two Sam's are fucking back off to Lincolnshire to live a life of solitude as they just couldnt hack the big smoke, the losers.

After trying to create some Polish Mad Dogs and hinking it was a good idea to drink shots of port everyone decided they wanted o go dancing, so i went to sleep. I also slept most of the next day when me a Jo spend a solid 4 hours watching Sweet 16 and falling asleep - a fitting end to a christmas story one thinks!
